Independence Day Celebration

I joined the good people of Yendi for the commemoration of the 66th year of our nation’s breakaway from the chains of colonial domination. It is a day of great importance to all Ghanaian citizens as it gives us opportunity to remember all those freedom fighters who had sacrificed their lives just for giving us a beautiful and peaceful life. We should be grateful to those leaders responsible for fighting for the freedom in our country. Addressing the gathering, I indicated that 'we are celebrating the 66th anniversary of our nation’s independence in the economic difficulties the pandemic has inflicted on us. We may have challenges and difficulties but difficulties do not last forever. The government of President Nana Akufo Addo is committed to the recovery and transformation path.' "Let us mobilize for the happy and prosperous Yendi of tomorrow, in which all of us, including our youth, our women and the vulnerable in our society, will have equal opportunities to realise their potential, and build lives of dignity. That is the only time the Ghanaian independence will be meaningful for the common Yendi person. On my part, A New Yendi City is emerging, filled with hope and optimism. We have made significant investments to strategically upgrade our city, uplift the standard of living of the people land create a fair and equal society."
